Group Financial Reporting Manager

We are looking to source a highly motivated qualified accountant in our newly created role of Group Financial Reporting Manager which will play a crucial role in our Group Finance team at Fintel Plc.
Reporting to our Group Financial Controller this is a key role within our finance leadership team. This role would suit an experienced technically strong qualified accountant with previous group consolidation and plc reporting experience.
You will be responsible for the management and oversight of the external and internal financial and managerial reporting of the Fintel Group, working with a range of stakeholders and leadership teams.
Fintel Plc is a growing AIM listed business and you would be joining the finance team at an exciting time as we enhance our reporting capabilities through ERP system implementation and continuous improvement of our end-to-end processes.
This is a full time permanent opportunity that can be based at either our Huddersfield (HD1) or Glasgow office (G51). We operate a hybrid working model providing a balance of home and office working.
What you'll be doing
- Leading and coordinating the group year end and half year accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the Plc results and statutory outputs
- Act as a key point of contact and provide oversight to the planning and execution of the group audit engagement
- Preparation of investor presentations and any other external reporting requirements as required
- Leading the Group month end reporting processes ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the consolidated group financials
- Reviewing month end consolidated management accounts and board pack including detailed P&L review, comparison to budget analysis and challenge of key balance sheet reconciliations
- Liaising with divisional business partners to understand and influence reporting processes and areas for continuous improvement
- Preparation, review, and provision of financial management information to senior management including the Group Executive Board as required, with ongoing opportunities to get involved with corporate M&A activity as our business grows through acquisition
- Act as a key stakeholder in the group wide ERP implementation, working with our advisors to meet project milestones as required
- Assist with a continued enhancement of our reporting capabilities, including a detailed in-depth review of our chart of accounts and cost centre hierarchy, with a real ability to drive and shape management reporting capabilities
- Maintaining the accounting for share-based payments under IFRS 2
- Provide technical accounting support to divisional finance, FP&A, and the wider business
What you need to succeed
- Fully qualified accountant with a recognised professional accountancy body - having trained ideally with a Big 4 / Top 10 background accounting firm with significant PQE
- This role is best suited to someone who has previous group consolidation and plc reporting experience
- Considerable experience of IFRS/FRS 101
- Excellent communication skills
- Extensive Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience
- Self-starter who is willing to learn and seek new challenges
- Ability to work optimally as part of a team to inspire, share and listen to ideas
- Ability to manage and develop direct reports
